What we learned at Tip Top





Today we were lucky to go to the Tip Top factory and see icecream being made. Mrs Reid asked us what one thing was that we learned today.
We learned how they make icecream L.C
They make 60,000 litre of icecream in one day. J.Hi
The tanks were kept at 4 degrees. J.H
We learned how the icecream gets put into the tubs. M.T
The icecream isn't put in by hand but by machine. H.D
They do not put colours in icecream. G.B
Each tank of icecream holds 20,000 litres of icecream and there are 9 in total. O.S
The men in red uniforms are engineers. S.P
There are only two chemicals in icecream. A.A
They have a freezer the size of Pack n Save at Botany. M.B
If you put icecream in the microwave it becomes slimy and yuk. J.W
The iceblocks are held by their sticks to be dipped in different toppings. N.B
There is not much fat in plain icecream...unless you add toppings. A.E
Fruit is cooked and put into the icecream. H.T-S
The waste of the icecream goes to pig farmers. V.V
If they make a mistake it gets put into a container and sent to the pig farmers. S.B
If you have two scoops of icecream it is not bad for you but if you add other things it's not so good.  P.P
There is a new kind of icecream coming out but we weren't told anything about it.....yet. M.B
They try to make each batch of icecream perfect. D.B
When they taste it it must be 100% good. G.H
They have more than one type of icecream, they have lots. M.v-d-M
They don't put coloring into their icecream. J.S
There are so many yummy flavours. H.M
The lollies and hokey pokey and cookies are put in a special way just before it went into the 2 litre tubs. B.P
