New Zealand's day...

Waitangi Day is a public holiday for New Zealanders held on the 6th February every year to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, the country's founding document, in 1840. As the holiday falls in the middle of the New Zealand summer, many people take the opportunity to go to the beach or visit one of the concerts held all over the country.

What will you and your family do this year on Waitangi Day? It falls on a Wednesday in our first week back at school so will be a lovely way to start the year off. Is anyone going to the beach, the pools, one of the parks in the area, or just staying at home relaxing? Let me know what you're going to get up to.
